Success Stories!
"Heidi"
ACD mix
Heidi's owner was ill and unable to give her the exercise she needed. Heidi
was a referral dog. She found a new home in November with several other dogs
for her to play with.
| Thank you so much for your assistance in finding
great homes for our puppies Sonny, and Brewtus. Because of your hard work
and efforts we have placed them in a good home with loving parents. |
"Harley"
Harley, a purebred Shar-Pei, was
found as a stray on a hot day in June 98. He was very underweight and
had abrasions on his paw pads which the vet thought were from walking
on concrete. He was rehabiliated, and went home with his new family in
February 99. He is doing well. Here's
a good photo
of Harley
.
"Puppy"
This beautiful Amstaff puppy was
rescued last year, someone had locked her in a car trunk. She found a home
very quickly, and is now with her new family!
Pooch was found as a stray in the spring of 98. He was not 'technically' a ChiRescue dog, but he was listed here on our adoption page. He was adopted by his rescuer. He is very happy and is doing well. Pooch was unfortunately diagnosed with hip dysplasia in his left hip, after being misdiagnosed by several vets. He had FHO surgery on the hip, and is doing well. If you like, you can view his page by clicking here . You can also find a link to his recovery progress there.
- Baggage -
By Evelyn Colbath
From the Shelter Dog
Now that I'm home, bathed, settled and
fed,
All nicely tucked in my warm, new
bed,
I'd like to open my baggage
Lest I forget, there is so much to
carry - So much to regret.
Hmm . . . Yes there it is, right
on top.
Let's unpack loneliness, heartache
and loss.
And there by my leash hides fear
and shame.
As I look on these things I tried so hard
to leave,
I still have to unpack my baggage
called pain.
I loved them, the others, the ones who
left me.
But I wasn't good enough - for they
didn't want me.
Will you add to my baggage?
Will you help me unpack?
Or will you just look at my things
and take me right back?
Do you have the time to help me unpack?
To put away my baggage - to never
repack?
I pray that you do - I'm tired you see.
But I do come with baggage - Will
you still want me?
